Why does my Nintendo Switch eShop say purchased? ›

When a game is listed as Purchased in Nintendo eShop, it means the game has already been purchased by a Nintendo Account using the same Nintendo Switch console as their primary console.

If you have not purchased both the full game and the DLC, you will not be able to access the DLC. You will need to purchase the full game on Nintendo eShop in order to play the DLC.

Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information. Select “Redownload”. A list of all of the software you've purchased that is not currently downloaded to the console will appear. Only software purchased with your Nintendo Account will appear on this list.

Check "Account Information" in Nintendo eShop (select your user icon in the upper-right corner). Any games that have been purchased or redeemed on the console will appear here, and can be re-downloaded at no additional cost.

Complete These Steps:

From the HOME Menu, scroll all the way to the right and select “All Software”. Press the R Button on the Joy-Con (R) to sort the software by: By Most Recently Played.

From the HOME Menu, select "System Settings". Scroll down the options on the left and select "Data Management". On the right-hand side select "Software", then select the software you would like to manage or delete.

Complete These Steps:

Select the Nintendo Account for which you want to manage restrictions. Select each setting that you want to adjust: Spending Restrictions - Check the box to disable purchases and automatic renewal options on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch AND the official Nintendo website.

Possible Solutions:

You may be trying to access the Game Trial with a Nintendo Account that does not have an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. Purchase a membership to be able to play the Game Trial, or purchase the game to have full access to it.

Open the Nintendo eShop with the Nintendo Account that purchased the game. Select the icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information. Highlight Redownload on the left side of the screen. A list of titles you've purchased will appear.

Why can't I redownload a game on my Switch? ›

You can only redownload games using the Nintendo Account that was used to purchase the game. If a specific game or DLC item shows "Purchased" in Nintendo eShop but you are unable to redownload it, you may find our information on Software Displays "Purchased" in the Nintendo Switch eShop helpful.

Downloadable software can be deleted from the console's system memory or saved to a microSD card in order to free up space. Deleting software data will not impact your save data. Once deleted, software can be redownloaded using the same Nintendo Account with which it was purchased.

Power off your Nintendo Switch console, power it back on, and re-try connecting to the internet. Try connecting to the internet using a different wireless network. Make sure that you have installed the latest system update. Verify whether other devices can access the internet while on the same network.

You can sign in to http://accounts.nintendo.com and check your purchase history for the past two years. Verify which Nintendo Account the funds were added to. Funds are not transferrable and are not shared between different Nintendo Accounts.

This error message may indicate that you are not using the primary console for the Nintendo Account that purchased the game. On a non-primary console, the game can only be started by the player that owns the game. The solution depends on who originally purchased the game.
