Does relisting count as a new listing? ›

Manually relisting an item makes it a "new" listing. There shouldn't be any history. If you let an fixed price item roll over an relist automatically the number of views does not reset.

Sell Similar will lose all that as though it was a brand new listing. If you sell lots of multiples of the same things, then maintaining your watchers may be more important to you. If you sell one-offs, it may be more important to get the boost of a 'new' listing.
