To start identity verification using the CEX.IO app:
Download the app:
Get it on Google Play.
2. Create a new account, or log in using your CEX.IO credentials.
3. Open the Profile menu in the upper left.
4. Choose Verification.
5. Hit the Start button under the Identity stage.
How to pass Identity Verification
During the verification process, customers are asked to provide information about their identity, such as name, date of birth, and country of residence. To help speed things along, have a photo ID and proof of address document ready.
Step 1: Country of residence
Tap on the Country and choose the one that reflects where you’re currently living.
Enter your ZIP code
Provide the Province/State, City, and Street Address.
Please note that U.S. residents will also be asked to enter their Social Security Number.
Double-check the information provided, then tap Next.
Step 2: Confirm your phone number

Enter your phone number
If this phone number is used on the same device, the confirmation will be done automatically. Once entered, a verification code will be sent for confirmation.
Step 3: Scan your ID
Take a photo of your identity document, such as a national ID card, international passport, or driver’s license.
If you choose an identity card or a driver’s license, specify the issuing country as well.
This document should be valid and internationally recognized. Check that it’s issued with Latin characters, or with Latin transliteration of the main fields.
When you ready to proceed:
Choose the type of your document
Allow CEX.IO to take pictures using your device.
Follow the on-screen instructions to upload a photo of your document. Verify that it’s readable so our system can scan your data and automatically fill in the required fields.
Step 4: Provide personal information from your document
If it was auto-filled, double-check the spelling and details. If necessary, correct the information or fill in the fields manually. Click Next to confirm.
Step 5: Provide information about your document
The document information can also be filled automatically after submitting a photo. The fields are different depending on the type of your document.
Verify the information is correct, and update any spelling if necessary. Then click Next to proceed.
Step 6: Take a selfie with your document
Prepare the document used for the previous steps and click Open camera.
The app will take the selfie in landscape layout, so start by flipping your device horizontally. For better accuracy, turn off portrait orientation for iOS, or rotation lock for Android.
The screen will be divided into two parts. Your face should fit in the frame on the left and the documents you’re holding should be on the right. Once your face and document are recognized, the frame will flash green.
Blink to take a photo.
You can also ask someone to take a photo of you. In this case, just switch to the rear camera.
Verify the photo is readable, or retake it if necessary.
Your application will be automatically reviewed for quick approval. If everything was submitted accurately, you should receive prompt notice that your account has been verified.
