Is CogniFit legit? ›

CogniFit is recognized by the scientific community and has been published and reviewed independently in several scientific publications.

Low scores, although within the average. The score will look yellow, since the cognitive abilities with this score will be within what is expected for people of your age and gender, but they are still improvable. Score between 400 - 600: High scores within the average.

Each CogniFit cognitive assessment battery is intended for use as a cognitive assessment aid to determine the level of cognitive functioning. It is intended to be used as an aid for physicians to design and monitor each patient's intervention and cognitive rehabilitation process.*

After creating your CogniFit account for free, you will have limited access to certain basic features offered by the platform (you can take thean initial cognitive assessment, try the games...). To access CogniFit's brain training programs, you will need to purchase a subscription.

The CogniFit training sessions are optional, but have been proven to improve your memory as well as 9 other driving related cognitive skills. Students are now averaging 425 points and many are able to improve their overall out of 800 by up to 100 points. The best so far is at an awesome 604. Can you beat it?

While brain-training apps may provide a boost, there's no substantial evidence that they can prevent or slow cognitive decline. They also don't seem to help people with cognitive decline that has progressed to dementia.

It is 30 point questionnaire to assess the cognition level of a person. It includes assessment of orientation to time (5 points), orientation to place (5 points), registration (3 points), attention and calculation (5 points), recall (3 points), language (2 points), repetition (1 point) and complex commands (6 points).

CogniFit brain training programs are made up of two brain training games and a single cognitive assessment task, which is what makes it possible to both train and measure cognitive skills during each brain training session. Each of these brain training sessions takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.

What are the benefits of CogniFit? ›

The MMSE is a quick test designed to measure cognitive function in the early stages of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. There is a free version available that may be helpful for assessing your memory as well as attention, language, and motor skills.

Doesn't Transfer to Real Life

The effectiveness of brain training apps is up for debate. Some research suggests it can improve cognitive skills they're designed for, but the evidence suggests that the skills learned in the app do not translate into real life.

Cognitive training may have a number of potential benefits, but it is also important to understand the limitations. It may sharpen your skills and help you retain more information, but you shouldn't expect miraculous improvements. Such skills may or may not translate to the real world.
