How do I certify my NFT? ›

Authenticity of an NFT can be found by its origin and the blockchain platform it is minted upon. Also, you can check the metadata of the NFTs provided along with its associated blockchain. In another way, you can go with verifying the ownership of the NFT you wanna buy and check its whole history from creation to sale.

If you ever need to provide NFT proof of ownership, you can do so in a number of ways. Smart contract metadata. First things first, head to the Details section of the NFT smart contract. This should include info on tokenID, contract address, blockchain hosting, metadata status and encoding standard.

Digital Identity Verification: NFTs can be tied to a person's digital identity, providing a unique and verifiable representation of that identity. This can be useful in online platforms, virtual worlds, and other digital environments where verifying the authenticity of users is important.

To check internal transactions, locate your account address on Etherscan and about halfway down the page, click on the 'Internal Transactions' tab. The transaction should be there. Another way to verify that you received funds in exchange for your NFT is by verifying that your balance is correct.

For a ERC721 NFT you would can check that by calling the ownerOf() function in the NFT smart contract. Pass in the token ID and it will return the owner of that NFT, which you then can compare to the authenticated users address.
