I landed here because I got very curious after just winning an auction.
This thread explain very well, I think, the betting process.
But I'm still wondering why or (how) I ended paying the exact amount I bet?
Lets say:
There were 3 bids when I bet $36.02, five seconds before the end.
The auto refreshed page that comes after the end didn't pronounce me the winner immediately as I'm used to see.
Instead it was saying, "refresh the page to see the result" (or something like that), "we are determining who is the winner."
I had to refresh the page 4 times to see the outcome: I was the winner, but I was expecting to win (at the worst) for a slightly smaller amount I bet. Never the same amount.
Can anyone please explain to me how those las seconds of betting yield the result?
I say, having me to pay my max bid I posted: $36.02?
