Is there a timeline to complete the lectures and other courses?

This is a completely self-paced, online course with additional resources being added over time. You decide when you start and when you finish, and go at your own pace. We do recommend developing a regular learning schedule, so you don’t lose momentum.

Is membership a one-time cost or a subscription?

Membership with Roofstock Academy is a one-time charge unless you’ve selected an installment payment plan. Once you join, you'll have ongoing access to all the benefits of your program.

Is this course only for investors who want to buy property through Roofstock?

No. This course was built to help anyone invest in real estate, regardless of where and how you decide to purchase a property. Our coaches have bought properties from all types of sources and will work with you on whatever approach best meets your individual needs and preferences. Of course, if there’s a Roofstock property that catches your eye, we will be happy to show you how the process works.

How does the Roofstock Marketplace fee credit work?

As a Roofstock Academy member, we offer you credits to cover a certain number of Roofstock Marketplace fees (up to $500 per transaction) should you choose to acquire investment properties through Roofstock. Note that once you apply your first credit, the Roofstock Academy money-back guarantee no longer applies.

Can I upgrade programs after enrolling?

Yes, just let us know when you'd like to upgrade, and we'll apply 50% of whatever you've spent on Self Study as a credit toward a new Workshop membership.

How do the coaching sessions work?

The 1:1 coaching sessions are designed to give you personalized feedback to help you reach your investing goals. Each coach draws on significant personal investing experience to help you develop a customized roadmap for your investment plan. During each call, you should come prepared to ask specific questions and work on developing your investing goals. Coaches are prepared to discuss property acquisition, financing, insurance, and just about any other real estate investment topic.

Is any 1:1 coaching included in Self Study?

No, if you're interested in 1:1 sessions with one of our experienced real estate coaches, you'll want to check out the Workshop membership.

Can I get a refund if the courses aren’t what I expected?

Yes, we offer a money-back guarantee for each program. If you're unhappy for any reason, just let us know within the time frame of your specific program and we will issue a full refund.

What is Great Jones and how does the credit work?

Great Jones, a Roofstock company, is a tech-forward, full-service property management company that operates in select states including Texas, Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Missouri, Indiana, and Alabama (see full list of metro areas). When you sign up for any Roofstock Academy program and initiate property management services with Great Jones within the first year of membership, Great Jones will waive their management fees* for the first two months.

Roofstock property acquisition fees are $500 or 0.5% of the contract price for offers on properties (whichever is higher). Down payments and fees will vary per rental, but the process for buying a property is different than that for selling one.
