Kuwait Dinar (2024)

Currency Profile

Kuwait Dinar

The Kuwait Dinar is the official currency of Kuwait, a small country located in the Persian Gulf.

The dinar is divided into 1000 fils and is the highest-valued currency in the world. This is largely because of the state’s vast oil wealth and relative political and economic stability.

The Dinar was first introduced following Kuwait’s independence from Britain in 1961 and replaced the Gulf rupee. It has remained relatively stable since then aside from a brief crash during the First Gulf War.

Kuwait has a strong economy and is a major exporter of oil, so the Kuwait Dinar is a popular currency for foreign exchange transactions.

The Kuwait Dinar is also sometimes used in a number of other countries, including Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
