Apple Pay does not require a social security number. It sounds like you may be referring to Apple Pay Cash.

Apple Pay Cash may ask for your social security number as part of identity verification and this would be required to proceed.

Thanks for reaching out, haniel145.

It sounds like you're being prompted for a social security number when you're setting up Apple Pay. We can help.

Apple Pay doesn't require a social security number, it just requires a compatible payment method on file to draw from when you make a purchase using Apple Pay. If you are being prompted for your social security number, it sounds like you might actually be applying for the Apple Card credit card through Goldman Sachs instead.

Here's some information you can check out about setting up Apple Pay on your iPhone: Set up Apple Pay in Wallet on iPhone.

If you're looking to Apple for the Apple Card instead, be sure to not post any of your personal details on Apple Support Communities as it can be read by anyone, but instead you can follow this guide to get in the right direction: How your Apple Card application is evaluated.

Hope that helps!

Take care.
