HSBCnet Online Banking allows you to upload payments using one of the following bank defined or industry formats:
Dynamic CSV (Supports BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments, Internal Transfer, and Cross Border payment types). Please note this format does not support SEPA Credit Transfer payment type.
BACSSTD18 (Supports BACS and Faster Payments Only)
ISO XML (All payments including SEPA credit Transfer)

The Faster Payments Service (FPS) is a United Kingdom banking initiative to reduce payment times between different banks' customer accounts to typically a few seconds, from the three working days that transfers usually take using the long-established BACS system.

Bank File is an option you can select when paying purchase transactions. It enables a file to be created for one or more payments where the 'Bank File' option has been selected. This file can then be imported in your bank's On-line Banking app and the bank should automatically process all the payments in the Bank File.
Is Bacs the same as bank transfer? Bacs is the same as a bank transfer and both can be used to mean the same thing. Money is transferred in the standard bank to bank way via the internet or phone banking. The only thing to note is that other types of bank transfers that you may hear about are Faster Payments and CHAPs.
We allow our customers to submit Bacs as: Files via SWIFTNet FileAct, HSBC Connect or the file upload module within HSBCnet. The following formats are supported - Bacs Standard 18, CRG Paymul and XML ISO20022.
