So, you're wondering how to make $10,000 dollars in a week and want some ideas to get the ball rolling.
This is, of course, amassiveamount of money to make in just a week. However, I firmly believe there are several businesses or even side hustles that can achieve this sort of income.
In fact, I've managed to reach this income milestone with my own side hustle stack of blogging, freelancing, and other business ideas. So, I know it's possible for anyone.
Some of the ideas involve creating passive income, while others involve selling off assets to make money as fast as possible.
Hopefully, at least one of the ideas in this list helps you reach your $10k a week goal!
How To Make $10K In A Week
Disclaimer: some of the ideas for making $10k in a week I mention involve months or even years of prep work. This is because building online businesses or passive income streams takes a lot of upfront effort before you get results.
In contrast, some of the ideas in this post are faster ways to make money when you're in a pinch, so think about your own scenario and what's best for you!
1. Sell Stuff You Own
One of the most realistic ways to make $10,000 in a week is to start liquidating your own assets. In other words, you can go through your entire house and the things you own and find high-value things to sell.
Examples of some common assets people sell when they need quick money include:
- Antiques
- Apparel, shoes, handbags, and other clothing items
- Precious metals
- Jewelry (you can use online websites like Worthyfor this to sell jewelry and diamonds)
- Expensive clothing and accessories
- Niche collectibles like sports cards, coins, and even more random ones like Pokemon cards
- Expensive hobby stuff, like instruments
- Fitness equipment
- Luxury watches

Some of my favorites includequick options like the Facebook Marketplace or selling platforms like eBay or Mercari.
It might be a stretch to make $10k in a week just by selling things since you have to find buyers quickly. But it really depends on how much stuff you have to sell and your market.
You could also try pawning stuff for money, but you'll get below market rate with this option, so be careful.
2. Freelance Work
For several years, my main income source has been freelance writing and other freelance-gigs like consulting.
At my peak of freelance writing, I was able to make $10,000 a month or more. And this wasn't full-time since I was still working on WebMonkey and YouTube.
However, I know several freelance writers and copywriters who make $10,000 a week. These people work 50-60+ hours a week usually, have numerous high-paying clients, and are the top writers in the finance niche.
Thisisn'tthe sort of gig you can build overnight; it probably takes years to get the type of experience for this level of freelancing.
But I wanted to include it on this list of how to make $10k a week since it's something you can hopefully aspire to and build on the side!
That's what my approach was anyways. I started ghost writing for clients, and eventually, that income was matching my day job at an advertising agency.
So, after some thinking, I quit my job, moved to Colombia for a while, and went all-in on freelancing.
The result was that my income more than tripled over the next two years, and I think this shows the power of selling your skills online.
And if you want the freedom to travel the world while making money with a laptop, freelancing is definitely something worth exploring.
3. Sell Your Vehicle
Like selling assets you own from inside your home, you can also consider selling your vehicle if you need $10,000 fast.
Right now, the used car market isveryexpensive, so it's a pretty decent time to sell your vehicle if you need to make $10,000 in a week.
As for where you sell, you have plenty of options like:
- Used car dealerships
- The Facebook Marketplace
- Online used car marketplaces like AutoTrader and Cars.com
How much money you make obviously depends on your vehicle's make, year, and condition. But a vehicle could potentially get you all or most of the way to your 10k goal.
4. Flip Stuff For Money
Another strategy that can potentially make $10,000 in a week is to buy and flip things for profit.
Now, I think 99.9% of people would need longer than a week to make this sort of cash. However, flipping and retail arbitrage can be incredibly profitable if you know what you're doing.
After all, I interviewed a couple doing Amazon FBA retail arbitrage, and they're making $40,000 or more per month, which is about $10,000 a week:
This couple specializes in flipping common, popular products in categories like apparel, electronics, books, and toys.
This approach is the most common retail arbitrage strategy, and if you can source popular products from discount stores, there's room for profit.
The downside is it takes time and you need to invest upfront capital. But some people also flip by selling on eBay or using more specialized apps like Poshmark or apps like Mercari.
And this is just sellingphysicalgoods. I know some people who have been making crazy money flipping NFTs, crypto, and even virtual real estate, so your options are pretty endless.
5. Affiliate Marketing
If you want to earn money online, one other option you can try is affiliate marketing. And I know this method has the potentially to make 10k in a week because I've done this numerous times.
Affiliate marketing involves making money by promoting other people's products and services. This is a very popular monetization strategy for social media influencers, bloggers, and YouTubers.
Affiliate marketing is also how I make a lot of my income these days. And I've even times where I've made $1,000 to $2,000 a day or more from affiliate sales.
The downside to affiliate marketing is that, like freelancing, it takes time to build an online presence that you can monetize.
For me, blogging to this income level took about 4 years. I know people who got there much faster, but again, it's not super quick money.
However, if your goal is to make $10k a week, I think you can set your sights on affiliate marketing as a goal. It's probably one of the online ideas with the highest income potential if you ask me!
6. Ask For A Raise
While it sounds obvious, another way to technically make $10,000 in a week is to ask your boss for a raise.
This conversation obviously doesn't pay you $10k upfront. But a simple 15 minute conversation can net you $10,000 or more for the next year.
This is what I did a year and a half after starting my first full-time job out of school at the digital marketing agency; I was able to go from around $45,000 to $55,000 after chatting with my boss about a raise.
Asking for a promotion can yield even more money, as well as more responsibility and the chance to further your career.

You can also do this for online jobs, so don't think this is just a tactic that works for in-office jobs!
7. Borrow The Money
If you're still thinking about how to make $10k in a week, you can always consider borrowing the money to meet your goals.
A lot of people do this by turning to friends and family. Granted, $10,000 is a lot of money, so you have to decide if you're comfortable reaching out to people you know for this amount.
Of course, there are options like turning to your bank, but again, you have to decide if you're comfortable with debt or not.
Options like ZippyLoanalso let you borrow $100 to $15,000, and you can recieve funds as soon as one business day.
Whatever option you decide on, make sure you read any terms carefully, and don't be afraid to ask a financial advisor for guidance as well.
I think picking different side hustles is the best route to making $10,000 a week, but there are other routes to acquiring capital.
8. Take Part In Research Studies
If you Google research studies going on in your area, you might find ones that pay you a decent amount of money in a short amount of time for taking part.
Universities and market research groups run these paid studies all the time. And some people also take part in clinical studies as well.
You have to decide if you're comfortable with taking part in studies, but if you live in a large city, there are probably a lot of ones going on right now that need participants.
Alternatively, you can also use a variety of paid survey sites that offer research opportunities. For example, websites like Prolific let you participate in studies to earn cash.

Granted, a lot of these money making apps and sites won't make 10k a week. But you can combine them with other ideas in this article to reach your income goal.

9. Blogging & Ecommerce Businesses
One final idea for making $10k in a week is to earn money through a blog or ecommerce business.
I've already mentioned blogging in this article, but really, I believe online businesses have some of the highest income potential out there.
For example, WebMonkey currently earns around $20,000 a month through Mediavine ads and affiliate income. But I know numerous bloggers who make over $10k a week, and a few who gross a million or more a year.
I also know some friends who make a lot of money through their ecommerce stores. One friend in particular sells clay mugs and similar gifts and has exclusive drops where she sells out all her Shopify inventory at once.
It's not uncommon for her to make $1,000 in a day or way, way more. This just goes to show the power of building an online presence and audience that you can sell information or goods to.
So, you could try starting your own online store with a platform like Shopify. Alternatively, you could try options like Redbubble or Etsy Print on Demand selling.
Again, it might take months to see some results and years to scale. But I think this is one of the more realistic options for earning $10k a week out there.

Final Thoughts
Earning $10,000 in a week isn't an easy feat. And to be honest, many of the business models or side hustles that can make this type of cash take years to build.
However, I think there's something to be said for setting your sights on a target and then taking the steps to get there, even if it takes a long time and years of work.
For example, I made under $2,000 my first year of blogging. But WebMonkey made $92,000 in its fourth year, and in year five, WebMonkey made $272,000.
This just goes to show you the power of time, work, and a bit of luck. And there are other ways to get fast cash like selling stuff you own or flipping you can use in the meantime.
