This article explains how to quickly access your Android phone's Bluetooth menu and discusses the available options.

How to access the Bluetooth menu on your Android phone

  1. Drag down the top of your screen to open the quick settings menu
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth icon. Doing so will jump you straight into the Bluetooth settings menu.
  3. Alternatively, you can go into your Settings and select Device Connection.

What's in the Bluetooth menu?

Once you're in the Bluetooth settings menu, there are several things you can do:

  1. Pair a new device (This means setting up a new Bluetooth connection with a new device).

    If you press Pair new device, your phone will automatically scan the environment for Bluetooth devices that are in pairing mode. It will not find devices that are not in Bluetooth pairing mode.

  2. Check previously connected devices and their settings:
    • You can pair up to 8 devices.
    • You can access the Device details by tapping the gear icon on the right of the product name.

What's in the Device Details?

You'll access the Device details by tapping the gear icon of a registered Bluetooth device.

You can:

  • Change the device name by tapping on the pencil on the top right side. Customisation!
  • Forget the device. It means that you unregister it on your phone.
    You might want to unregister a device you no longer use. If you're experiencing Bluetooth issues, unregistering and pairing a device again might also solve potential problems.
  • Connect the device. You can activate the Bluetooth connection with the device here.
  • Depending on the device type, you can access additional sound settings.
