What is burrata?

Burrata is an Italian dish that’s made from cow or buffalos milk that’s traditional to the southern region of Apulia. It’s made from mozzarella and cream and presented in a large sphere shape with the outer casing being a semi-hard, solid cheese with a soft centre made of stracciatella di bufala and cream.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, traditional burrata is not suitable for vegans as it’s entirely made from cow or buffalo dairy. But are there any vegan alternatives?
